Abstract


A strong immune system (immune) is a community need during a pandemic. Because, with a strong immune system, the possibility of contracting the coronavirus is also very small. Vitamin C is a micronutrient that plays an important role in humans. Vitamin C is considered beneficial for boosting immunity. By consuming vitamin C can increase the work of white blood cells, reduce tissue and cell damage, and reduce the proliferation of viruses. In addition to vitamin C, consuming various spices (traditional spices) is also one way to maintain immunity. Spices are plants that have high antioxidants that can boost immunity. Boosting immunity can be a form of defense against the coronavirus, besides that spices are often used as a mixture of cooking spices, made drinks, or even consumed directly. This research uses a comparative method, with validity test, reliability test, and normality test. Also The Spice Up The Word Program which is a Ministry/Agency Work plan for Indonesian culinary strategy that carries the tagline Indonesia Spice Up The World with 3 focuses (1) expanding the marketing of Indonesian seasoning/processed food and spice products; (2) development of Indonesian restaurants abroad; and (3) strengthening of domestic culinary or gastronomic destinationsThis study uses the population in DKI Jakarta, to determine the consumption of vitamin C and jamu (traditional spices) during the pandemic. From the results of the study, it was found that there was an increase in the consumption of vitamin C and herbs (traditional spices) before and during the Covid-19 pandemic.
